Performance parameters associated with copper cables, coaxial cables and optical cables encompassing: Open circuit, short circuit and pair continuity Split pair and crossed pair Attenuation Return loss Insulation Resistance (leakage) Near end cross talk (NEXT) Attenuation to cross talk ratio (ACR) Loop resistance Noise (Impulse noise and average noise) Characteristic impedance Note: Structured cabling including, twisted pair cabling, shielded twisted pair (STP), unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and higher performance cabling.
